Are you serious... you go this much out of your way to bash on these people. You really need to find something better to do with your time. I've seen so many people attacking Mormons lately that I decided to look up a few statistics on them. You know what I found, first of all there are only like 13 million members in the entire world. That's not even 1% of the population of the planet. The sad thing is that I have found probably just as many websites like this one dedicated just on attacking them for their beliefs. I really don't mean to be rude I'm actually a religious person myself and I'm not Mormon or even christian but I just have to say get a fucking life you stupid idiots. Sure some of their members may have donated a good sum of money for Prop 8 but it wouldn't have made a damn bit of difference because there are 30+ million people in Cali to begin with that's more then double the entire population of the Mormon church!!!! Why the hell was anyone threatening the Mormons to begin with?? If there are any pissed off homosexuals out there they should be sending there little threats to every resident living in California not the Mormons. The residents are the ones who made or failed to make the vote on the issue and that's why it passed.

If there is a God it amazes me that he doesn't just destroy us now? The majority of the people of this planet are no longer worthy to have the bodies that He gave us if He exists. People don't even understand the basics of math anymore. Spend you time doing something that might have an actual effect on something, like voting on issues that you care about and leave these Mormons alone. I'm really perturbed about this website, it is an outrage. I really hope you know what you're doing, if you don't you can seek guidance from a Bishop or Stake President in your area. If you don't take down this site, you will have unending eternal condemnation heading your way. This is a disgrace--and blasphemous. I was actually googling for pictures for a nativity scene that I am setting up for our lds ward christmas party. I googled for images. I actually liked the look of it so I wanted to look at a bigger picture. Then I saw and read what was shown and what was written. Ive been a member since 1995 and still going strong. There is so much stuff out there warnings of the church, essays and written words against Mormonism. The Heading 'Joseph Smith, Jesus Christ and Santa Claus', and the opening line 'A look at what these three famous icons have in common.' Makes you think doesnt it, about why we have Christmas? Is it truly to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ or the giving of Santa Claus, or the works of Joseph Smith. With the proof given above in what has been written must be the worship of Joseph Smith, than the worship of Jesus Christ. Is it really about the religion or the person being revered? You could be more convincing. The angel Moroni told Joseph Smith that people like you would speak evil of him, and all you have done is fulfill Joseph Smith's first prediction!

The problem with your post is that you do not understand the mystery of the menorah, Joseph was the six light of the menorah, but out of the seven seers, or lights of Truth, only sixth light is evil spoken of according to Joseph Smith.

You do help to propagate that teaching of Joseph by speaking evil of him. The way to make Joseph into a liar would be to only speak well of him. You don't have to say he was the Truth, but you could say, that I see him like all the other prophets of the Bible, and that the Bible is a book for the weak minded who want to believe there is a God. That way you would not be speaking "evil" of him, but you would be voicing your opinion about him being a phony, because you do not believe in a personal God.

Albert Einstein understood that concept about God, therefore he refused to believe in a personal God that spoke to prophets, but you're no Einstein. Einstein believed in dreams, most of his mathematical solution to problems came to him through dreams.

My friend John Tusson worked with Albert Einstein, and he knew this. The problem I have with Einstein's concept of God, and your approach to the same problem is who the one that sparks the dream in man? When you have dreams, and when Einstein had dreams, and when Joseph Smith had dreams, what was the cause of cause that spark dream?

You can say that you never had a dream, but that would not answer where Einstein's dream came from. There is no doubt in my mind that Einstein had dreams, but even Einstein failed to explain where that dream came from. Now, Joseph Smith had the courage to say that God sparked his dreams. And it doesn't take another Einstein to figure out that a small spark in itself is not perfect. All that it means is that it was a catalyst to something more. Something to build upon, even Jesus taught that principle to the ancient church, for he said to St. Peter, thou art the ROCK that I will establish my kingdom upon.

Even Joseph Smith understood that principle of truth that he was only building upon what St. Peter have established.

There is no teaching given by Joseph Smith that said that he completed to build the kingdom of God. He sought to establish the kingdom of heaven, and that was what led to his death when he ordered the destruction of the press that was publishing and revealing the kingdom of heaven that Joseph was working to establish, that led to his arrest and eventual death as a martyr.

Had he succeed in his plans to establish the kingdom of heaven, he would have been the first in history to have fully established the kingdom upon this earth. However, the prophet Zechariah predicted that only "The BRANCH" will succeed in establishing the kingdom upon this earth. And it will take 144,000 newly appointed gods to march with him.

You're being unfair with Joseph Smith, he never had a change to organize the 144,000, but what will you then say about "The BRANCH" when he lands upon Jerusalem with his 144,000 newly appointed gods mounted upon flying horses in June 2012? When those uneducated in the science of genetics, like Dore, get their doctorate in that field, then they can comment on the DNA studies cited. Which, by the way, contain faulty science. The researchers had a goal in mind and then manipulated the data to prove their hypothesis. Just a small note to say thanks for a few of the files i was able to attain from this site. However as a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints also keeping in mind that i am but of a meer 16 years of age i was quite offened at some of the images that appear in the upper half of this page that depicted pictures of our past prophet and apostles with visual annotations added. Being a website that acts as a medium of church files, i have strong feelings that these images are of a highly innapropriate nature and present no positive connotations towards the church thus damaging the public image of the church also. According to the principles and values that our country was founded on, citizens have the right of free speech, but also the obligation of tolerance. I won't say you'll go to hell, because I don't feel like I could ever send a child of mine to what we traditionally think of as hell. I'm sure you feel the same. I think that you may have missed the true intent of relief society. If you look at almost every natural disaster that has taken place over the past 10 years (or more), the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has sent relief to those who suffered from those disasters. Many times the relief society has been the root of this service. Food and supplies were sent to various countries in order to provide comfort to those suffering. There are many good things that this Church has done in the world, in fact it has only done good things in the world. It is so sad to see a website like this. I apologize for the people who have responded in negative ways and for the people who have made the LDS church look bad. I can only say how does the church compare to other churches. I do not feel like I put ona fake smile when I go to church. If I am happy I smile, in fact going to church is often what chees me up and makes me happy. If I am sad, angry, or depressed I do not smile. I do not always relate the specifics of my problems to other members, but I do not feel that all of them would respond in the several aforementioned manners. I have to disagree with the person above who said this website was intelligently designed. I do not know a significant amount of graphic design, but I could make it look a lot better. I also found several gramatical/spelling errors. I also do not care if you are LDS, protestant, Catholc, Buddist, HIndu, etc. non- religious, it is never intelligent to rip apart a group unless that group has physically or mentally caused you harm. I cannot believe that the church ever forced anything on anyone any choice to smile, fake it, or follow "stupid" rules, principles, or commandments was "your" choice at the time. I do not say that the church is perfect because anytime humans are involved things get screwed up , but the inate principles of the church are not bad. This site does offend me however, in the fact that it appears high on the google search engine at this date. I can only say that I believe if the church was not true it would not be so constantly molested by people who were merely bored or offended. I have to say for myself that I know the curch is true. I have had my ups and downs, not as bad as some, but much worse than others. I had the opportunity to get excommunicated, but I know what I did was making me unhappy, would have ruined my life forever, and whether or not the church disapproved, I did. No one is perfect, myself least of all, no one is happy all of the time (guilty here as well: I am often depressed and angry), but that doe not mean that the LDS church is the problem. I have to say that I find following church teachings gives my life meaning ( I am a woman, I will have my bachelors degree soon, and I want children, but I can have a career too if I want) and helps me enjoy life. I just cannot understand why so many are so unhappy and blame the church. Yes I did read most of this page, about 85% and it does not make me question my faith. It makes me question the people who have written all of these mean things. I feel so sorry for you girls, too bad you can't feel the real happiness living the gospel brings. I wonder how you think you know how every lady feels that is at church on Sundays. Many of them are there because they need the uplifting feeling that comes from the other sisters. so what if someone has to go home & take a valium, the majority of people I know are on some kind of medication. As to the comments about depression, I also have a difficult time being cheerful and sociable. However, my membership in the Church and my association with others there is often what lifts me up when I can't do that alone. We as church members have had a hard time since the church began even when Christ was on the earth He was ridiculed for what his purpose was but the saviour was forgiving and somethings hurt especially when there are misunderstandings. my learned friends i feel as though you have a real problem with the church of jesus christ of latter day saints, why would that be? i feel as a wise man once wrote, where is the wisdom we have lost in knowledge and where is the knowledge we have lost in information. it seems to me that not only you anti lds but also the members you have spoken to lack wisdom and knowledge, and only seem to be filled with part information. for now all i want to say is that the lord asked us through the prophet joseph smith not to drink tea coffee ,alcohol etc . and didn't give health reasons why we shouldn't,it was just about obedience. try reading abraham 3:25 in the pearl of great price. 2nd the word of wisdom was not command until later in the churchs history but was and is And always will be the order and will of god in the temporal salvation of his people. so wether or not bringham young joseph or any other saint in the early days drank alcohol tea or smoked swore or what ever. doesn't matter. I am sorry; I understand that we all have free agency. However, we as Mormons have a right to practice what we feel is the truth. We should also be able to do that with out things being made a public display of things we feel are very sacred. I am proud to be an American were we do have the freedom of speech and religion. I also know that there is adversity for everything. However, this site is made up of remarks that you all are going to be held accountable for. Obviously most people who have commented are former members of the church and have had their feelings hurt or excommunicated for one reason or another. The people that have sold their garments and their temple recommends are REALLY going to be in trouble. Good thing our God is a merciful one. i became a member of the church of jesus christ when my parents joined when i was about 10, i never really understood why they chose to join but felt i would follow. i loved young women and the church and it was a great inspiration to me. i was dating a young man in the church but the relationship wasn't to be and i ended up dating someone out of the church. at this stage of my life the church appeaered to go to the back of my mind and i started drinking, moved in with partner etc. but sopmething in the back of my mind new that the church was true and i missed it.so after 5 years of not attending i pluck up the courage to go again, and i feel that it was the best move i ever made. i married my partner who is not a member and have two beautiful children who i love with all my heart. i cant believe people have wrote and said they now have better friends and a better life. i have friends out of the church i go out clubbing most weekends and have fab nights, my friends except me for who i am and never judge me. my husband always says to me that he chose me because i was different to other women doesnt that say something, or just maybe life as a mormon in the uk is different to american. - 05/23/2008 - it changed my life

I do find it interesting that certain groups are OK to pigeonhole into a collection of stereotypes and some aren't. Every experience in life is what you make of it. You haters hated BYU because you wanted to hate it. People looking for a good experience there will find it. I attended BYU from 1998-2002 and had a great experience. No one is perfect, the members of the church are not perfect and therefore the church isn't either. The gospel is true and perfect. As far as consequences for sexual misconduct before marriage- every bishop has inspiration and receives revelation for EACH case INDIVIDUALLY. There are guidelines about how a person should be counselled to repent, but each case is different. Wow this is all really sad. I have religion in my life (not going to say which one). I searched for many years. Basically, bought a book called "Religions In America" and went through the list giving all a try (why not!). Eventually, I found the right one for me. I am happy and spriitually fulfilled. I have to say though if you focus on the people in any religion you will be greatly disappointed. People are people, some good, some bad, some really really bad. If you base your beliefs on other peoples actions, attitiudes etc. you will never be happy. People always disappoint....its the nature of the man. Find out what you believe, be strong and hold to that and don't let people sway you. I think we do that way too often. I tell my children "remember who you are and what you stand for and do not let others persuade you otherwise". As a people we care about what others think too often! I am an active LDS member. I have found some of this hilarious, I understand why you've made most of the comments and I find some offensive (lampooning the prophet).

Let me just clarify a few things from the comments here: Couples DO make vows to EACH OTHER and GOD. (the point of marriage - duh!) Ultra-Mormonism as it was put, is an American cultural facade. It is typically (but not exclusively) a "molly mormon" trait. An unhealthy learned habit and I do agree that this shouldn't be a part of the "culture" but in the US it seems to be.

Some rules are a bit silly (skirts in to an exam that happened over.. oooh 30 years ago! let it go hunny. Some church dances still expect girls to wear a skirt but NOT in every country. The doctrine is the same but the local authorities largely decide what's appropriate. So yet, another Americanism.

Feelings are what they are. I don't go around telling every associate of mine how I really feel. I get on with it, and when my FRIENDS are near I tell them. It's the same everywhere and wouldn't really be appropriate for everyone to know you have PMS that day or you're bored in their lesson. and yes they are sometimes boring. Some however are excellent!

Oh and the teasing the hair comments.. rather lame. These people aren't gods, they're humans trying to helps us reach our potential.

Uhhh...There are at least two other religions who have had to fight more than Mormons. Jews and Jehovah's Witnesses, both of which were gathered up and put into German Concentration camps among other things. Where were the German Mormons when all this was going on? I also find it interesting that the only Mormons persecuted during that time were the few who rejected the notion of Nazism, of which the Mormon Church fully supported. Hello, I do not know what must have happened to harden your heart against the church and it's teachings but it is really too bad. To see people like yourself totally loose themself to the worlds influence and use petty humiliation against people whom you have no personal connection with is sad. This is such an intelligent website. Seriously, it is quite clear that someone has put an considerable amount of energy in to creating the humorless images and comments up here. This is a clear indication of one of two possible catalysts. First, this person is bored and truly has nothing better to do with his/her time. This also means that this person is most likely unemployed, and has hit rock bottom in life. No doubt due to excessive alcoholism, drug use, pornography addiction, all of which probably led to the firing of his/her job, and then a subsequent divorce (not necessarily in that order). Or, this person has somewhere along the line of LDS membership been offended and decided the church is to blame. Perhaps there was a commandment that came along that he/she decided was not for them, he/she had a vision of some kind in which they were told the church is true, a bishop came down on them too hard for something (in their interpretation anyway), a relief society member talked behind his/her back, or perhaps they are just plain bitter at the church for one reason or another. Gosh, I can't decided which it is. However, I'm going to guess that the creator(s) of this website suffer a little bit from all the above. Bravo intelligent website creators! You have finally found your calling in life - cursing and making fun of an institution you once belonged to. Why? Well, I think I now have a pretty good idea.

I found your site extremely amusing and sad, My brother married a Mormon and only one of his 6 children and his wife still subscribe to it. She tried to get me involved when I was 12 however having been raised Catholic I knew BS when I heard it. There is a little unknown law that can be found in scripture God in his infinite wisdom knew mans gullibility so he charged his angles with a command they do not break, they are never to reveal their identity. Judges 13:15-18.

We are given only the names of the three cherubims who where allowed to enter Gods throne room as facilitators. They are Gabriel, Michael and Lucifer. So Moroni could only be the latter of the cherubs. With his dark sense of humor he laughs at the poor souls who fall for his treachery.

Joseph Smith was a liar the church never needed restoration. In fact a great revival called the great awakening was sweeping across America in Smiths day. He just thought like L. Ron Hubbard the best way to make money is start your own religion and live on the labors of others. Not a problem of conscience when you don't have one to begin with.

Satan did the same exact thing in the early church rose up another false prophet by the name of Mohamed. Ever notice how all the cults have to have there own interpretation of God's word or a distraction from his real prophets and the true scriptures? Other books such as Catechisms, the Koran, the Book of Moron's and Watch Tower publications, all ways to deceive and distract from the real purpose.

Never trust one man alone that's why the bible was written by 40 authors. When Christ came it ended the need for the priesthood, There is no need for new prophecy dealing with God's plan, there is personal prophecy but as far as global events and the direction of the church all has been covered.

My prayer is that they all see the truth and receive the Christ of scripture and accept him as the only one to follow, after all it is all about Him and He is the only one I know who was raised from the dead, someone well worth following. It's all about finding truth and relating to Him who is truth. "Know the truth and the truth will set you free".

Wow, this is a really tasteless site. Whether you believe in the Mormon faith or Catholicisms or are a Baptist or a Lutheran, this website just shows how juvenile that some people can be. It's amazing on how much time is wasted to produce anti-faith pages that are on the web just like these.

Now, I understand that we can become bored from time to time and don't have anything better to do. However, one would think that you could find better things to do than this. Or perhaps not, and you might be getting a "charge" out of all the comments that are being left here. You really need some help. You should talk to your church councilor, priest, bishop(or whatever religion you are)or maybe just a friend about some issues you might have.

However, on the flip side, it is sites like this that actually help spread the message of Christianity and the Gospel as the casual person that broweses this site would look at your off-color comments as ridicules but might actually peak there curiosity into the Mormon faith. So in your effort to hurt, you might have acually done some good.

You are right that the plates weighed more than 60 pounds. But 200 pounds would be the weight only for the dimensions on display. ALL the plates of the lengthy writings said to be in gold would have weighed TONS. And they would not have fit under Joe's bed or his in bedroom.

I have read a little of what has been written on this site both from the author and the critics and I have to say that all I have read makes me sad. To the author I would like to say that I am sorry for the angry comments and rude statements that have been made by those that disagree with you and have been offended by what you wrote. I am a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, true blue through and through to quote one of our prophets, and I believe that it is your God given right not to believe and to tell others why you don't believe. However I would also like to warn others that may read this page that neither the author nor the critics have well represented the church that I know and that I am a part of. I belong to a church who's single most important doctrine is that of forgiveness. The author has focused on the things that the Gospel teaches we must needs be forgiven for and forgets that after every talk that tells of all the wickedness in the world comes a plea to repent and come unto Christ and be a better person. The critics have forgotten that we are also taught to love not only our neighbor but also our enemy and to forgive that we might be forgiven. I don't write to condemn either party but to say that if you would truly learn about the Church don't take what anybody says at face value. Study the matter out. Do your homework and listen to both sides of the argument and then let your own ability to sense good tell you what is right.
